MISQUIZ

Pictures of Father Benturas trip to to Misquiz to serve Christmas Paneton and Chocolate Milk. Misquiz is 2.5 hours from Santo Domingo and even more remote. This early christmas is required because the roads soon become impassable due to the rainy season.

These pictures are at the local church,they are serving the local children.

COMPLETED PROJECT - Finish the "Habitacion Fraternal Ayuda" Room for the Women Students PHASE 1(STARTED 2024,COMPLETED 2025).

Women Students Quarters-

The Parish provides lodging for young Ladies who are attending nursing training school. These wonderful young women come from families with very limited resources. So the Parish provides very basic lodging. Currently all four youg women live in one cramped room with a small propane stove for cooking. One of the new rooms has walls but no window,doors,lights, or electrical wiring. As you can see from the pictures, the stairs really need guard rails.

Due to the urgency of housing the new girls, the Parish found a local merchant who gave them a line of credit for materials so they can proceed with construction. We pay the labor as we go. We have already collected and spent over $4000. Budget : The Parish now has a debt of about $1800 USD. Our GOAL in 2026 is to clear this debt and start PHASE 2 . We still pay for labor as we go. Creating work in this community is very important.

COMPLETED PROJECT - The "Habitacion Vicario" Room

Repair the Rectory

Basic repairs of rundown facilities for the Padres. The parish was built in 1912 of Adobe and is decrepit. Primary goal is to get this room ready for second Priest (The Vicar).
