Women Students Quarters
The Parish provides lodging for young Ladies who are attending nursing training school. These wonderful young women come from families with very limited resources. So the Parish provides very basic lodging. Currently all four youg women live in one cramped room with a small propane stove for cooking. There are 3 old collapsed beds for the 4 girls. The goal is to move them to the new womens quarters with new furnishings and real common kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The new room has walls but no window, doors, lights, or electrical wiring. As you can see from the pictures, the stairs really need guard rails. Since our first post on this 3 new ladies have arrived seeking help, so the number is now seven that need help. This means the scope of the project has grown as we try to make more of the unfinished area usable. We pay as we go.
Budget : Estimated $USD 5000 to finish the rooms. This includes Windows, Doors, Wiring and Lights, and a guard rail for the stairs. . Common kitchens and bathroom. We have collected $USD 1030

Evaluation and Medicines for impoverished people with psychiatric disorders
Currently, There is NO help for people (many are children) with psychiatric disorders. There is NO doctor and NO medicines available. We need funds to to transport them to Piura (over 2 hours away), pay for evaluations, and then keep them supplied with medications. We are getting a list of what Medications are required. Longer term, we are also need to finish construction of the "Clinic Facilities". Then patients can be served locally. This will lower per patient treatment cost by reducing transportation, food, and lodging costs in Piura. The more we can do locally, the more patients we can server per dollar. We are developing a more comprehensive plan after our visit with Padre Bentura/Padre Luis in Santo Domingo in June.
